It’s been a whirlwind 24 hours, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t exhausted. But what I want to say first and foremost is a massive THANK YOU to every single one of the 15,395 voters who backed me to be Southend East & Rochford’s first ever Labour MP. I will never forget the trust you have placed in me.
The outpouring of support and belief in our campaign has been truly humbling. Your votes represent not just a desire for change, but a commitment to a vision of a better future for our community. I am deeply honored by the opportunity to serve you, and I promise to work tirelessly to live up to the faith you have shown in me.
Over the next few weeks, there will be a lot to be done. Setting up to serve you effectively in Parliament and in our constituency is a priority. And that is exactly what I intend to do: serve.
I will be collaborating with all of you to enhance our communities in Southend, Southchurch, Thorpe Bay, Shoeburyness, Rochford, Great and Little Wakering, Foulness, Canewdon, and Paglesham. Together, we can make these areas the very best they can be.
Southend East & Rochford voted for change yesterday. Today, we begin the work of delivering it. From addressing local issues to making sure our voices are heard on the national stage, my commitment is to ensure that the needs and aspirations of our community are always front and center.
