Introduction

I’m proud of what Southend East and Rochford has to offer, and I know how much more we can achieve.

Since becoming your MP in 2024, I have focused squarely on the potential of Southend East and Rochford, shouting about what makes our home special and helping it become a stronger economic centre of gravity for the region. From representing constituents in Parliament to tackling important casework, I’m working hard to be as visible and responsive an MP as possible.

What I stand for

Regenerating Our Economy

Economic regeneration is the basis of making Southend East and Rochford a place where young people can stay local, businesses can thrive, and families can enjoy the quality of life they deserve. Through events such as the Southend Investment Summit, I’m helping the constituency attract growth and drive investment.

Celebrating Our Culture

Assets like the Pier, the Kursaal, and the Freight House give us a link to our past and are the key to creating a richer future. That’s why I’m so focused on celebrating our tourism heritage and protecting our precious coastline. One of my proudest achievements as Southend East and Rochford’s MP has been helping the Kursaal move closer towards public use once again.

Improving Our Public Transport

Public transport is the secret to improving social mobility in an affordable and sustainable way. I’ve attended forums, engaged with providers, and advocated for increased night-time train services to help our evening economy thrive. My goal is for residents to be able to move easily around Southend East and Rochford, regardless of where they live.

Backing Our Businesses

Putting our towns firmly back on the map is my aim for Southend East and Rochford. We’ve got countless small and medium businesses, and supporting new ones to find a home in the constituency is a core ambition of mine. It’s also why I’ve used my voice in Parliament to call for support for the key industries that keep our towns ticking.

Making Our Housing Affordable

Building more high-quality and affordable homes for residents is paramount. I stand for families being able to stay close together because they have access to good housing options, including social housing. At the same time, I believe it’s crucial that we balance the need for new homes with our responsibility to protect the Green Belt in Southend East and Rochford.

Supporting Our Families

I am fiercely proud to call myself working-class and to have strong working-class values. I’m standing up for these values in Parliament and using my voice to support the Southend East and Rochford families who also know what it means to struggle.

Protecting Our Environment

From the dangerous discharge of sewage into our sea to the overdevelopment of our Green Belt, recent decades have seen the protection of our local environment take a back seat. I’m committed to ensuring that while we pursue economic growth, we take care of the natural assets that make Southend East and Rochford so special.
