Last week, despite the weather’s reluctance to cooperate, I had the pleasure of joining forces with Project Southchurch, Trust Links Ltd, local residents, and the Mayor for a green-fingered event, the planting of a Micro Orchard at Bournes Green Park.

This collaborative endeavour not only aimed to enhance the park’s greenery but also fostered meaningful partnerships within the community, highlighting the collective commitment to the well-being and beautification of our shared spaces.
Despite the less-than-ideal weather conditions, the enthusiasm among participants remained undiminished. Armed with shovels, saplings, and a shared determination to make a positive impact, we braved the rain and the presence of the mayor added further official endorsement to this community-led initiative.

Beyond the immediate act of planting, the micro orchard symbolises a broader commitment to community growth. As these saplings take root and blossom over time, they will serve as a living testament to the collective care and effort invested in Bournes Green Park.
The micro orchard stands not just as a cluster of trees but as a representation of our shared aspirations for a greener, more connected, and harmonious community.
